to the paintings of Ybarra Studios. John has been painting
professionally for over 20 years. The broad spectrum of
his art experience has included custom paint on rare and
antique vehicles and motorcycles, wall murals, and interior
faux painting. Embellishing objects of a wide variety using
the rare art of hand painted fine line pinstriping.
John was born and raised in southern California, drawing
him naturally to a great interest in the ocean and it’s
inhabitants, and eventually into using his years of painting
experience to capture the beauty and tranquility of the
undersea world.
THE ORIGINALS
Original paintings are done with a unique collection of
mediums in which the artist has become accustom to using
through his years of automotive artistry. Unlike traditional
artists who paint predominantly on canvas, aluminum panels
are used, and provide a smooth and non-deteriorating surface.
Oil based paints are applied using a variety of spray guns,
airbrushes, and paint brushes. Elegant fine line pinstriping
finishes the painting.
Pinstriping, painted free hand by John, embellishes each
painting. It is a trade mark touch, and is unique to each
of his paintings. The finished work is then clear coated,
insuring the original to last indefinitely.
THE LIMITED EDITION PRINTS
The limited edition prints are printed with a unique process
of offset printing. High Definition printing is used, which
provides a higher resolution and more vibrant colors to
more accurately capture that of the original piece. The
prints are done on archival, acid free paper making them
gallery and collector quality.
ARTIST'S MESSAGE
I hope you enjoy these painting as much as I have enjoyed
creating them. I have put forth the maximum effort to make
available to you the highest quality prints, and as the
artist I will continue to create paintings which will reflect
my love for the art and the beauty of the oceans around
us. My twenty plus year commitment to my profession and
